Magnesium hydroxide

Magnesium hydroxide is a white crystal or powder, slightly soluble in water, widely used as a flame retardant. Magnesium hydroxide has flame retardant properties because: it decomposes above 340 ℃, generating magnesium oxide and water, absorbing heat from the surface of the burning material. Generate a large amount of water has dilution and isolation of air (oxygen) on the surface of combustible materials, decomposition of the generated active magnesium oxide solid is high temperature resistant material, attached to the surface of combustible materials to further prevent combustion.  Application.
1. Magnesium hydroxide is an excellent flame retardant and filler for plastics (PE, PP, PVC, ABS, PS, HIPS, PA, PBT, unsaturated polyester, epoxy resin,), rubber products, paints.
2 In environmental protection, it is used as flue gas desulfurization agent, and can replace caustic soda and lime as neutralizer of acidic wastewater.
3. It is also used as oil additive, playing the role of anti-corrosion and desulfurization.
4. It can also be used in electronics industry, medicine, refining of sugar, as insulation material and manufacture of other magnesium salt products.
