Calcium in the
medical field, calcium is vital to human health, mainly in human bones and
blood plasma.
Due to its
instability in air, calcium decomposes rapidly into calcium hydroxide and
calcium carbonate. Calcium carbonate is the chalky substance we associate
with calcium, with the white cliffs being composed of this compound. Even such
compounds are versatile in nature and industry process. Therefore, it continues
to enrich and nourish all areas of industry. These usage is wider:
•Nitrogen
removal agent: Calcium is a nitrogen removal agent for pure inert gases,
decomposing thiophene and mercaptans with bad odor.
•Dehydrating
agent: organic solvent dehydrating agent
•Oxidizing
agent, bleaching agent, quick-drying agent: Calcium peroxide is a mild
oxidizing agent, used as sterilization, corrosion, bleaching agent; also used
as a quick-drying agent for sealing mud.
•Co-solvent:
Calcium fluoride is used as raw material of optical glass, optical fiber,
enamel, and as co-solvent.
•CaCO3,
CaO, Ca(OH))2, CaF2, CaSO4 are also widely
used in the construction field, such as CaO (quicklime) is used as building
material, cement instant solvent; Ca(OH)2 (slaked lime, slaked lime)
can be mixed with sand to build bricks; CaF2 is used in glass,
ceramics, cement and other construction CaF2 is used in glass,
ceramics, cement and other construction industries; CaSO4 (hard
gypsum) can be used as cement, putty and other construction materials. On the
path of industrial development, CaSO4 can be upgraded as nano- and
fiber shapes. Such gypsum fiber will enrich its fine features and anchoring in
plastic compounding, rubber making, friction composites, adhesive, grinding
wheels, etc.
Welcome you to discovering more uses of calcium together, building a
better home world.
